"Mine of the planets": the outcome of the emergency NASA press conference
NASA is not often going to "emergency" conference to tell the world about the really important things. Tonight was represented by one of those "really important things." Why is it important, as it was about everything - see below.
How it all began?
Less than a day ago, the US space agency NASA has announced a press conference with the participation of prominent "exoplanets hunters" to talk about something important. The theme of the speech was to be the opening associated with exoplanets. Exoplanet - a planet outside our solar system. We found yet so many exoplanets, but every year we find more and more, and soon will go to the expense of thousands, and then tens and hundreds of thousands. Why do we look for them? Firstly, to prove to ourselves that we are not alone, and secondly, to prepare themselves possible targets for exploration and colonization. Third, because it is a science.
What it told?
In short: Scientists have discovered seven Earth-like planets around red dwarf ultracold only 39, 5 light-years from us. But the Earth-like planet found more than once. What is more important: the seven planets:
- are close in size to the Earth;
- are near stars habitable area (so-called Goldilocks zone where water can exist in liquid form on the surface);
- may have oceans (but this is not exactly);
- produced by its star almost as much heat as our planet Earth - from the sun.
What is the most ridiculous, these seven planets are located compactly like fingers on a hand semipalogo mutant. If you move these extrasolar planets in our solar system, they all fit in luminaries within the orbit of Mercury.

And what now?
We'll see. The last time, when far from us (only ~ 5 light years) from Proxima Centauri found a potentially habitable exoplanet Earth-like, scientists have almost gone crazy and are already preparing dorogushchuju mission involving multiple miniature ships, which acceleration to the speed of light and get to Proxima b for twenty or thirty years to make her selfie. This time, perhaps, these missions will not be planned, but will be coming soon James Webb Space Telescope, which can almost "sniff" the atmosphere of exoplanets interesting us.
And then, there are very few to detect the Earth 2.0.
