For example, a group of researchers from the School of Engineering and Applied Physics, New York State University in Buffalo based on developed a system for identifying human features of his EEG.

The fact that the basis of the EEG is a record by means of special electrodes frequency and amplitude electrical brain impulses. Scientists from the US have decided to found in electroencephalogram not only common, but also unique for each person signs in order that they can be used as a biometric. Experts have EEG helmet and modified it so that the number of electrodes for recording doubled (64 to 32 standard). Operation of each part of the brain is recorded sensor 3 groups: the first captures data related to the conscious memories, second - recognition of persons and objects, the third - reading.

The subjects (which, incidentally, was 179) in a helmet showing 3 pictures - an image of the animal, the famous portrait of the man and the text. All three pictures were shown in total not more than 2 seconds (or more precisely 1, 2 seconds). The entire series of images was shown 4 times in a row at regular intervals. After that, all of the recorded pulses created a common "brain password", which, as it turned out, is unique to each participant in the experiment. Then everything is simple: you have only to demonstrate once again the man a series of images, keep the "brain password" and compare it with the existing passwords in the database. identification accuracy is 95%, but 5 months after the read is decremented by 1% and the change continues to grow. Thus, at the moment the use of EEG as a biometric indicator has a significant drawback in the form that you need to constantly update the database. However, according to scientists, the problem is completely solved.
