Hackers get money and a car for breaking Tesla Model 3
The company Tesla is trying by all means to protect their electric cars from breaking, and it definitely has something to work on. Evidence that a lot - for example, once hackers from Belgium were able to deceive the Tesla Model S system and open the car door. To prevent the recurrence of such incidents, the company has been awarded the hackers money in the amount of 15 000 dollars for a program to find any flaws. In 2019 Tesla went further and announced its readiness to give Tesla Model 3 the one who will win the Pwn2Own hacking competition in the car category.
Pwn2Own contest held since 2007 - in the framework of its hackers break into laptops, tablets and other equipment and receives a cash prize. This year the organizers decided to add a category of vehicles, and its first representative was chosen by Tesla Model 3. The participants have to find vulnerabilities in the protection system, autopilot and other pieces of software. These systems are responsible for the car's vital functions until the lane change, so for the successful exploitation of vulnerabilities participants will receive from 35 000 to 250 000 dollars. The overall winner in the car category will receive the grand prize - a new Tesla Model 3.

It is worth recalling that Tesla has problems not only with the security software. Earlier, a car Tesla Model 3 was quite dangerous to ride in the dark - the right front headlight illuminated the road a little worse than the left. Fortunately, in July 2018 the company has corrected this problem by installing new lights on the cars.
