The most rainy place on Earth
A typical Indian village Mavsilam located in the north-eastern state of Meghalaya is considered the wettest place on the planet. In 1985, there fell a record rainfall - 26 000 millimeters.
By the way, this record was even officially recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. On average, there falls throughout the year about 11 862 mm of rainfall. New Zealand photographer Cheppl Amos (Amos Chapple) for a long time traveled to India. I visited and Mavsilame. Local workers, who have a long time to be outdoors, bear the original handmade umbrellas made of bamboo and banana leaves. And yet, in the area of the village a lot of "live" bridges that are literally growing local population.
