A few days later, Wendy realizes that Death has returned and is stalking untimely survivors of the roller-coaster crash, killing them off one by one in gruesome and creative manners. Soon, she finds that the photos she had taken during the celebration night are loaded with signs and clues that will help them in saving their own lives.

In a race against Death, Wendy enlists the help of fellow classmate Kevin Fischer in order to defeat Death once and foreall, before their numbers are up.

Wednesday Christensen

Wednesday Christensen is depicted as a stubborn and defiant teenaged girl. She is also more commonly known as 'Wendy'. Wendy plays the central role in the film. She does not exactly keep a level-head on life, acting unrationally and frequently panics. Although so, Wendy is well-intentioned, seeing as how she tries to save the lives of her classmates.

Wendy Christensen is stern on her sister and is a major control freak. She has an obsessive need to exercise control over herself and others and to take command of the situation. High-maintenance and bossy, most of her classmates do not find her pleasant because of this.

Wendy has a boyfriend, Jason Wise, early in the film. However, he dies in the terrible roller-coaster accident. This turns Wendy into a huge sobbing mess. She copes slowly, though, and later in the film befriends fellow goofball Kevin Fischer and halfway through, shows mixed feelings towards him (in the book, her feelings towards Kevin are more stronger and obvious; after Lewis' death, they forced sexual intercourse in the shower gym to divert attention away).

Although well-intentioned, her compulsive needs to meddle in the situation oten ends tragically. However, she has a strong sense of determination, but frequently loses hope. She is revealed to have intentions on leaving McKinley to pursue a new life, but stays to help her friends. Wendy is the yearbook photographer and has shown interest in studying photography.

In the end, Wendy has managed to save her sister, herself and Kevin from Death's clutches. However, six months later, they meet again, coincidentally, in a subway train. Wendy received another foreboding that the train will crash. Her fate, however, is unknown; whether she had been able to survive the crash or not. In an alternate ending, she did not receive the premonition and the subway crashed. In a test ending, she survived. In an alternate "Choose-Their-Fate" version only available in the DVD, Wendy, Kevin, Jason and Carrie all survived.

Mary Quotes

• "I think that what drives her is the pain that she feels. She's trying to overcome it and make something positive out of it and regain control of her life and she's not going to let anything get in her way."

• "I was excited about it because I auditioned for Final Destination 2, so I felt like this was my second chance to become a part of the series. I was in LA and this was something my agent sent me out on. I tried really hard to do my best and then just moved on. I really didn't think about it at all. Then someone called and said I got the part and wanted to fly me to Canada right away. So it was all kind of whirlwind. It took a while to set in. I was in shock for the first two weeks, because it all happened so fast."

• "it's surprising but the writers and the director and the producers came back for this one. I think everyone was really excited to take it to another step, and come up with even more strange and gory and complicated deaths than the first two had."

• "It was incredible. The first day I was there they showed me this computer-generated version of how they were going to do the roller coaster. They had it all planned out already, and I was so shocked, it was incredible, it was so terrifying and gruesome and awesome, so it was great."

Memorable Quotes

• Wendy Christensen: "I should've left town. It's better not knowing."
Kevin Fischer: "It's never better staying ignorant. Wilful ignorance is surrendering control."

• Wendy Christensen: (sobbing) "Julie... I need... I need help. I have such guilt over Jason. I should have let that ride go... You know, usuallly I'm such a control freak but I didn't do enough to stop it... I should've done everything I could to stop it... and I wish I had another chance, but I never can.. I don't wanna someday feel that way about you Julie... y'know I can't talk to Mom and Dad. You're all I have left."

• Wendy Christensen: "You're not a senior."
Julie Christensen: "And what are you gonna do about it, Miss Cutest Couple Rah-Rah?"

• Wendy Christensen: "You followed me!"
Ian McKinley: "You are paronoid. But hey, I saw what happened. You're next right? You're the end of it aren't you? Well, I'd be paranoid too."
Wendy Christensen: "You didn't even believe me."
Ian McKinley: "Well, seeing is believing."

(makes a pointless realization)
Kevin Fischer: "Hey, Spongebob lives underwater."
Wendy Christensen: "It's so sad that you know that."

• Wendy Christensen: "We need to know who was sitting behind you in the roller-coaster."
Erin Ulmer: "Okay, who was sitting behind us on the roller-coaster. Oh wait! Wasn't it the guy who got voted most likely to become manager at Red Lobster?"
Ian McKinley: "Oh, you know what? God, I remember. It was this guy, black cloak. I couldn't see his face, but the ride attendant did take his sickle (chuckles) if that's helpful an any way."

• Wendy Christensen: "Kevin, if it weren't for you and Jason being friends and me and Carrie being friends, we wouldn't have even hung out. I mean, we don't even like each other."

• Kevin Fischer: "What's wrong?"
Wendy Christensen: "It's just I'll be worrying every second. Hoping you're okay."
Kevin Fischer: "Why? I mean, we don't even like each other."
(Wendy smiles weakly)

Our Reviews

I feel that Final Destination 3 takes the franchise to a new level. Even though it is more of the same butchered teenagers, the final one is smarter and unique to the series. Mary and Ryan act perfectly the roles that they are giving and you are on the roller coaster with them throughout the film. Entertaining and fun-filled, you probably won't be scared by a lot, but if you're looking for a film in which you can sit down and have large amount of fun with, it is the perfect match. A gorefest is what every Final Destination film should of been like.

- Ally
If the audience tries to look for something beyond what the first two offered, then, regrettably, they will be disappointed. But if they're just looking for fun, then this immaculately bloody instalment in the Final Destination series will prove fulfilling. And I belong to the latter category. Serving no other purpose then to entertain and delight fans by shooting gallons of blood towards the screen, Final Destination 3 intends to make the audience think by adding an engaging twist into the mix - but the end result is, suffice it to say, very predictable.

"The plucky Wendy is played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who does as competent a job as one could expect in these dire circumstances. It never hurts to have a good-looking girl get most of the screen time." - (Read Full Review: ReelViews) "But the real tragedy is that promising young actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead must endure this torture.
