• If you've been dying to find out why Mary left Passions, then you've found it. She allegedly left the soap opera after she had snagged a starring role in the FOX show, Father Can't Cope. The show was to star Scott Bakula as the father (and possibly the lead role), Brittney Lee Harvey, Mary Page Keller and Jake Sandgiv. Brian Levant had directed the pilot episode, which was due to air in 2000. However, the series was not picked up.

• Mary was booked as a guest star in the episode "State of the Unions" in the show Commander in Chief as a character named Sherri Dixon. However, scheduling conflicts with the movie, Black Christmas (which was filmed between January and February of 2006), prompted her role to be re-casted and therefore, she did not appear in it. The episode aired on the 13th of April.

• In 2007, after Grindhouse hit theatres, there were news that Mary was going to appear in a romance movie called Love At First Sight. According to multiple sources, she was to play the lead role. However, news of that project had soon vanished; for a while, the movie remained inactive. After some time though, the film was reported as cancelled. It was revealed later that it never got off the ground.

• In early 2007, Warner Brothers had announced that a Justice League of America movie was in the works. It was entitled Justice League: Mortal. It is set to be directed by George Miller and the screenplay was written by Kieran and Michele Mulroney. Mary had auditioned for the role of Wonder Woman, along with actresses Missy Peregrym, Teresa Palmer, Shannyn Sossamon and Christina Millan. For a long time, the chosen star was unknown, but there were heavy rumors that Mary was considered for the role. However, in late 2007, it is finally revealed that Australian actress, Megan Gale was cast in the role. Meanwhile, the studio felt that the script needed perfecting, but this was impossible due to the Writer's Guild of America strike. Therefore, the film was put on an indefinite hiatus. In a recent interview, producer Joel Silver stated that the film has been tabled. The project has been effectively terminated.

• In a January 2007 interview, producer Roy Lee revealed that The Ring Three is green-lit and in the works, but not to be released until late 2009 or 2010. During this time, there were speculations that Mary was to return to the role of Evelyn, but no substantial information about this is further revealed.
